How to write copy that converts visitors into customers

Design catches the eye, but words are what sell. Good copy can turn a beautiful but silent page into a lead-generating machine. Here are the keys.

Talk about benefits, not features

Nobody cares that you use "cutting-edge technology". They care what they get from it. Instead of "high-performance servers", say "your site loads instantly so you don't lose impatient customers".

Write to one person, not a crowd

Use "you". Write as if you were talking to a single customer across the table. The text feels closer and more persuasive.

Be clear before clever

If the reader has to work to understand you, they leave. Short sentences, plain language, and zero unnecessary jargon.

Use social proof

"Over 200 Canadian businesses already trust us" carries more weight than any adjective. Numbers and testimonials reduce hesitation.

Close with a clear call to action

Never end a section without telling the reader what to do: "Apply now", "Get your quote", "Book a call". One step, clearly visible.

Remove friction

Anticipate objections ("no upfront cost", "response within 24 hours", "cancel any time") and knock them down right in the copy.
